Era: Vintage 20 - 100 yrs old
Arthur Johnson Smith sterling silver and green enamel lily of the valley brooch, featuring five paste stones.
Measuring length 4.4cm / 1.73 inches by width 1cm / .39 inch. The "C" hook clasp and tube pin assembly is a little loose but working well.
The row of paste stones has movement, which may have been how the brooch was made, so we have left as is.
The brooch is stamped with an anchor, a lion, and the date letter W.
This means that the brooch is sterling silver, was assayed in Birmingham, and is dated 1921.
The makers mark is AJS, for Arthur Johnson Smith. There is also a stamp RDNO 612981. We have given the brooch a light clean.
This is a wonderful and stylish brooch, the paste stones really sparkle. A piece of history wearable today.
