Fabulous and stylish Trifari gold plated brooch featuring faux ivory pearls with clear rhinestones in a stylised star design, circa 1960s.
The brooch displays plenty of detail, with textured and shiny gold plating, and each star tip ends with a cream pearl, contrasting with the ivory pearls.
There is one replacement rhinestone, and the pearls have minor general wear. One pearl has lost some finish.
This is a fine quality Trifari statement brooch in a beautiful star design, it would look stunning worn at a wedding or special occasion.
Trifari was a talented jeweller who was born in Naples but emigrated to New York in 1902. Gustavo Trifari began his own business in 1918 when he met Leo Kraussman. They were joined by Carl Fishel, in 1925. In 1975 the company was bought by Hallmark, and since then has been taken over by several companies. In 2000 production was finally moved overseas which brought an end to high quality signed Trifari jewellery.
